FAQ's

Are your inflatables certified?

They Sure Are... All our bouncy castles and playzones are PIPA certified, these items fall under PUWER 1998 which makes it mandatory for a periodic inspection to be carried out by a competent person. As we take safety seriously we ensure all our equipment is inspected by a third party inspection body and not inhouse. All our bouncy castle and playzone certificates can be seen by clicking on the 'tests' tab on each castles information page.

The picture below shows an example of where the test certificates can be found.

Can i cancel my booking due to bad weather?

Yes and in fact we would encourage you to do this, if the weather is looking bad on the day of your booking please get in touch before 9am so we can arrange a full refund (minus the PayPal transaction charge of 6%).

Will you cancel my booking if the weather is bad?

Yes... unfortunately our lovely Scottish weather can be so unpredictable and changeable that on some occasions it is simply not safe to setup an inflatable. We monitor the MET Office website and XC weather to check for wind speeds and rain, should the forecast show gusts in excess of 24mph or a 20% or above chance of rain we will have to cancel the booking. We try and give you as much notice as possible when cancelling a booking as we appreciate the time and effort you have spent organizing your planned event. Please remember if we do need to cancel, it is the safety of you and your guests we are thinking off. You will be given a full refund (minus the PayPal transaction charge of 6%).

How much space is needed for the equipment?

You will need to allow a minimum of 6ft at the rear of the inflatable bouncy castle for the inflation tube (some inflation tubes are longer than 6ft), 4ft at the front to allow for safety mats to be laid on the impact area and 2ft either side for access to the rear and prevent the castle from coming into contact with walls, fences etc. Please note each castles setup space is different depending on inflatable type, inflation tube size etc. please ensure you check the inflatables required setup space prior to bookings.

For example, a 15ft by 15ft inflatable would require a minimum clear space of 25ft by 19ft.

Please ensure all garden items such as garden toys, swings, slides, dog mess, patio furniture, rubbish etc. are removed from the area where the castle is to be sited, also there should be no overhanging trees or bushes.

PLEASE NOTE: It is your responsibility to ensure that there is enough space for us to unload and inflate the equipment in your chosen location. If we arrive and find that there is not enough space by using the diagram below and checking the inflatables required setup space on the product page, you will be required to pay the outstanding balance.

The picture below shows how we work out how much space is required to inflate our equipment, please remember some inflation tubes are longer than 6ft.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance?

Yes, we hold a £5M public liability insurance policy and this can be seen on request, please be aware this insurance only covers Kids Haven , it does not cover you the hirer.

What documentation can you provide if requested?

If requested we can supply a number of documents such as inflatable equipment PIPA test certificates, electrical equipment PAT test reports, Public Liability insurance, Risk Assessments, Method Statements.

Do you hire equipment overnight?

We do not hire our bouncy castles and playzones overnight due to changeable weather conditions however we can be flexible in terms of drop off and collection times to try and be as accommodating as possible.

Other equipment such as soft play, garden games etc can be hired overnight as long as they are brought inside overnight.

Do you hire to flats & communal gardens?

No we do not hire to flats or communal gardens as additional permission are required and in some cases permits for the day of hire.

What type of vehicle do you use for delivery?

We deliver all our equipment in a LWB high roof van, we kindly request that after you have received your delivery time slot and collection time you ensure that there is room for the van to be parked either on your driveway or directly outside the hire address for the duration of that time. This can be challenging especially during collection times if you still have guests etc however due to the equipment in some cases being extremely heavy for safety reasons we really appreciate your assistance. For hall hires this doesn't tend to be so much of an issue due to parking facilities etc.

How long do i get the castle for?

Outdoor Hires: we begin delivering between the hours of 8am and 12 noon and start our collections at 3pm, unfortunately we cannot guarantee a collection after 3pm so please let the children know to avoid disappointment. All bouncy castle and soft play hires are for a minimum of 6 hours depending on the drop off and collection route planned for the hire date.

Indoor Hires: when booking the equipment you will be asked for a setup time and collection time, we will send a confirmation email in relation to the times you have requested.

Fun Runs & Slides: the hire period for fun runs and slides are a minimum of 4 hour sometimes longer depending on the drop off and collection route planned for the hire date.

Do hall bookings get a discount (2 hour hires)?

No, unfortunately we cannot give a discount for hires that only last a 2 or 3 hours.

How much access space do you require?

As our equipment is commercial grade it is quite heavy (upto 190kgs) and also quite large so we require access via a gate or door to be around 77cm for bouncy castles and 1mtr wide for inflatable slides and fun runs.

Can the inflatables be used indoors?

Yes, all of our inflatables can be used indoors as long as the ceiling height is sufficient, please check the items 'Size' tab as it states the required space. if your unsure please contact us and we can advise.

The picture below shows an example of where the 'Size' tab can be found.

Can the castle be setup on a hard standing?

For safety reasons as per EN14960-1-19, inflatables setup outside on a hard standing require 163kgs of ballast per anchor point, due to this logistical and manual handling issue we do not setup on any areas where pegs cannot be used.

We are happy to setup on areas that have astro turf, however please be aware that pegs will pierce the membrane that is underneath.

How long does it take to set up/take down the castle ?

Setup and take downs depends on how close the vehicle is to the setup location, but an average time is around 30 minutes per item booked. For hall hires we always recommend setting up an hour before your party begins and also suggest booking the hall for an hour after your party finishes. This allows for additional equipment being setup and packed away such as soft play packages and also allows for unexpected delays that our out with our control such as traffic etc.

My garden has a slight slope, is that ok?

As per EN14960-1-19, inflatables should not be setup on any area that has a slope greater than 5 degrees. If you are unsure please contact us and we can advise.

Do you have a booking fee?

Yes, we require a 20% administration fee to secure your booking, this fee is non refundable (unless due to weather conditions) however this deposit is credited towards the cost of your hire. The remainder can be paid via cash or BACs.

How can I pay ?

We accept cash on delivery, or BACS before the day, please message us for details.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver locally in Stonehaven and wider afield in the Aberdeenshire and surrounding areas. We offer free delivery free to a number of areas some areas require a small delivery charge, you can see this charge in the booking page.

Steps leading to setup location, is that a problem ?

If you have more than 3 steps please make us aware of this when booking as additional people may be required when delivering and collecting.

Why cant i use silly string, glitter, confetti or facepaint near the equipment i have hired?

The colouring in silly string, glitter, facepaint and confetti can stain the equipment in a matter of minutes (especially in damp conditions) the picture below is an example of what happens when confetti sticks to a bouncy castle, please note the staining cannot be removed and the hirer was liable for the cost of a whole new castle.

What power supply does the castle need and do i need to provide it?

All we need is a normal house socket within 25m of the castle, if the power supply is further away don't worry just let us know and we will supply additional extensions leads. We will also supply a RCD for safety and all our electrical equipment is annually PAT tested.

What if it rains during my party ?

Most of our castles come complete with a rain cover so any light showers simply dry off the front step and the castle is then useable. If the rain persists and becomes heavier then you will need to stop the use of the inflatable and please LEAVE THE INFLATABLE UP, as this will prevent the rain from penetrating through the threads and reduce the time the inflatable will require to dry.

Does the inflatable come with safety mats?

Yes, we provide safety mats for all hires.
